It is true that no one can do without sleep and many Warfighters have trouble getting enough of it, when deployed. Sleep makes you feel better but its importance goes way beyond just boosting your mood or banishing under-eye circles. It actually affects the total quality of life. Here are some health benefits that researchers have discovered about a good night’s sleep that may keep you physically fit and sturdy.

Helps to improve memory

Our mind is surprisingly busy while we snooze and during sleep we can strengthen memories or practice skills learned while you were awake. So, if you’re trying to learn something new whether it’s Spanish or a new tennis swing, you’ll surely perform better after sleeping.

Reduces inflammation

Research indicates that people who get less sleep like six or fewer hours a night, tend to have higher blood levels of inflammatory proteins than those who get more. The inflammation is linked to heart disease, diabetes, stroke, premature aging and arthritis.

Persons who have sleep apnea or insomnia can have an improvement in blood pressure and inflammation with the treatment of sleep disorders.

A standard recommendation is that an individual get eight hours of sleep a night and 7.5 to 8.5 is optimal. It is important to keep a consistent sleep-wake schedule in order to get an adequate amount of sleep each night .And even on the weekends, it is important to stick to your bedtime routine and regular bedtime and wake-up schedule.

With respect to physical performance, the rest and recovery is essential for best physical fitness. When you are well rested then you will approach social, physical or professional challenges in the most advantageous state of mind and body.

    Over and over again, research shows a strong correlation between sleep and memory improvement. Sleep is especially important for young children, especially in this day and age they are not getting the require amount. Then we have the parents complaining that their kids suffer from really bad memory. I really hope parents read this article and start putting their kids to bed early.
