A Republican activist from California who stormed the US Capitol with other President Trump supporters was arrested by federal law enforcement Tuesday.
Jorge Riley was charged in Washington, DC after he was seen in photos and video inside the Capitol during the insurrection on Jan. 6, the Sacramento Bee reported.
Riley resigned from his positions in the California Republican Assembly last week amid the scandal.
In a video posted to Reddit, Riley explains how he other rioters broke into the building.
“We breached over there I think. We broke windows. We went into the door. We pushed our way in,” Riley says.
“We pushed our way into Nancy Pelosi’s office. We just kept going further and further,” he said of the fatal attack, which he later described as a “mostly peaceful physical takeover,” he continues.
On Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said more than 100 people have been arrested in connection with the Capitol Hill attack that killed five people, and over 200 suspects have been identified.
